Lions Roar Brewing Co. is a woman-owned nanobrewery located in downtown Westfield, NJ. We brew different styles of beer and hard seltzers on-premise and have an indoor taproom and outdoor beer garden. We host a large number of events and are proud to be involved in our community. As we grow, we are looking to add an Assistant Brewer/Utility to our team.

This role will work closely with our head brewer and owner/manager to safely execute brewing, cellaring, and packaging operations with quality, cleanliness, and attention to detail. As a small business, this role can provide more hours based on additional daily tasks such as taproom and beer garden maintenance, barbacking, off-premise events and other tasks as needed. There’s a lot that goes into our small brewery with a big heart, and we’re looking to bring some one on that is a team player and excited about not only helping grow the brewery, but grow with it. 


Brewery experience is preferred but not required if you come with a willingness and eagerness to learn! Passion for craft beer preferred. 

Responsibilities:
-Perform and or assist in all brewery processes including: wort production, cellar work, dry hopping, packaging, and cleaning

-Line cleaning 

-Keg cleaning 

-Canning (single-head Oktober machine)
-Maintaining a safe, organized and clean working environment while adhering to all safety and procedural standards
-Maintaining/recording inventory and efficiently managing cold storage space

-Utilizing Ollie Ops to ensure inventory and production is well documented 

-Help maintaining production, beer garden, taproom and general facility

-Opportunities to add more hours via barbacking on busier nights, working off-premise events, etc 

Hours: 

-starting at 20 hours/week with potential for more 

-Monday-Thursday availability, with occasional weekend/evening work 

Skills:

-Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Strong attention to detail

-Critical and creative thinking

-Coordination, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, occasionally up to 160 lbs 

-Ability to thrive in a team setting and to work independently

-Ability to work in a hot, wet, and humid environment that may require bending and lifting 

-Ability to ascend/descend stairs to access cellar

-Willingness to commit to all safety procedures and SOPs including the use of PPE
-Use of a ladder
